Why We Need Your Help
This deadly illness has no known cause and no cure. When a person is diagnosed, he or she is given only two to five years to live. During that time, the neurological disease gradually paralyzes its victims, robbing them of their ability to walk, speak, eat, and eventually breathe. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease yet it still costs loved ones an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need.
